- 五逆
- pañcānantarya; [lang id =1028]五無間業 The five rebellious acts or deadly sins, parricide, matricide, killing an arhat, shedding the blood of a Buddha, destroying the harmony of the sangha, or fraternity. The above definition is common both to Hīnayāna and Mahāyāna. The lightest of these sins is the first; the heaviest the last.II.Another group is:(1) sacrilege, such as destroying temples, burning sutras, stealing a Buddha's or a monk's things, inducing others to do so, or taking pleasure therein;(2) slander, or abuse of the teaching of (sa) śrāvaka s, (sa) pratyekabuddhas, or bodhisattvas;(3) ill-treatment or killing of a monk;(4) any one of the five deadly sins given above;(5) denial of the karma consequences of ill deeds, acting or teaching others accordingly, and unceasing evil life.III.There are also five deadly sins, each of which is equal to each of the first set of five:(1) violation of a mother, or a fully ordained nun;(2) killing a bodhisattva in a sangha;(5) destroying a Buddha's (sa) stūpa. IV. The five unpardonable sin of Devadatta who(1) destroyed the harmony of the community;(2) injured Śākyamuni with a stone, shedding his blood;(3) induced the king to let loose a rutting elephant to trample down Śākyamuni;(4) killed a nun;(5) put poison on his finger-nails and saluted Śākyamuni intending to destroy him thereby.* * *﹝出華嚴孔目﹞ 〔一、 殺父母〕, 謂父母養育, 恩同天地, 為子者, 當竭力孝養奉事, 以報其恩, 況行殺逆; 若行此事, 是為逆罪, 即墮地獄。 四分律云: 若殺父母者, 不許出家受具足戒也。 (具足戒者, 即二百五十戒也。 ) 〔二、 破和合僧〕, 謂比丘集眾行布薩時, 和合作法, 若後來者, 當隨順寂默, 或當出避。 若以瞋惡之心, 破其法事, 令不和合, 是為逆罪。 律云: 破和合僧者, 不許出家受具足戒也。 (梵語比丘, 華言乞士。 梵語布薩, 華言淨住。 ) 〔三、 出佛身血〕, 謂佛是一切眾生慈父, 能令眾生悟明自心, 出離苦趣。 眾生歷劫供養, 不能報其恩德萬一, 而況出其身血; 若行此事, 是為逆罪。 興起行經云: 提婆達多推出擲佛, 山神接之, 迸一小石, 傷佛足指, 即有血出, 以此因緣後墮地獄。 (梵語提婆達多, 華言天熱。 ) 〔四、 殺阿羅漢〕, 梵語阿羅漢, 華言無學。 謂無法可學。 又名應供, 應受人天供養故也。 眾生即當供養恭敬, 以為種福之田, 況行殺逆; 若行此事, 是為逆罪。 律云: 殺阿羅漢者, 不許出家受具足戒也。 〔五、 破羯磨僧〕, 梵語羯磨, 華言作法辦事。 謂比丘受具足戒, 或行懺悔法時, 當依和尚阿闍黎行羯磨法, 作法成就, 方為得戒, 若有人見者, 當隨順寂默, 或當出避。 若以惡心, 破其作法, 令不得戒, 是為逆罪。 律云: 破羯磨者, 不許出家受具足戒也。 (和尚, 梵語鄔波遮迦。 于闐國翻和尚, 華言力生。 梵語阿闍黎, 華言軌範。 )* * *見五逆罪條。
